Wilson Wins Grammy For ‘Spiderman Theme’

Justin Wilson won a Grammy on Sunday night, with Wilson, along with Randy Waldman and Randy Kibble, taking home the Grammy for Best Arrangement, Instruments, and Vocals for the ‘Spiderman Theme.’
Wilson and Waldman were also nominated for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Capella with the ‘Batman Theme.’
He is the son of Paula Wilson and the grandson of Vivian and Bernice Wilson, who resided in Southampton.

“It was so surreal,” Mr Wilson told Bernews. “I was nominated in two categories and didn’t get the first one, so I was really nervous about the second one and was shocked and excited when I heard my name called.”
He said the atmosphere had a “chill vibe” to it when he won as it was very early in the evening and not a lot of people had arrived to fill their seats.
For the Spiderman soundtrack, he co-arranged 10 songs on that album.
“The songs were a collaborative effort between Randy Waldman and me, who is a legend and an amazing arranger and performer. Mark Kibble added his vocal genius to that particular song as well.”
As a child, Mr Wilson would go to Bermuda to see his grandparents.
“We would go to Bermuda almost every summer to see my grandparents, aunties and uncles, and cousins. Cross Bay is right down the way so we would go there all the time and have so much fun.”
He laughed, “My Papa made sure we didn’t have too much fun without work though or he would tan our hides.”
